Liberal Democrat MEP for London Baroness Sarah Ludford is seeking a committed, energetic and experienced general Parliamentary Assistant for her Brussels office in the European Parliament.
This postholder will work alongside the assistant who supports Sarah Ludford's specialised work on the Justice & Civil Liberties (LIBE) committee.
The role will involve:
- administration including diary management, travel and accommodation arrangements
- casework and correspondence on a full range of issues
- political and parliamentary activities including ALDE group, Foreign Affairs committee and London constituency issues
- preparation of briefing notes, press releases, speeches and articles
This post requires at least 6 months experience of working in the European Parliament; a talent for organisation and progress-chasing; a high level of written, communication, IT and interpersonal skills; mother-tongue standard of English; preferably a good knowledge of French; flexibility in helping with other office tasks; identification with European Liberal Democrat aims and values; a pleasant personality; and an ability to work with a demanding and busy MEP.
