*The University of South Carolina Honors College offers scholarships and reduced tuition to freshman international students demonstrating high academic achievement. A $750 scholarship is granted per academic year (fall and spring terms). Additionally, recipients receive a tuition reduction estimated at $10,396 for the fall 2010/spring 2011 terms. This reduces the cost of attendance from $35,453 to approximately $25,057 annually, which includes tuition, fees, and living expenses. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA throughout their program of study to maintain the scholarship award.
*Eligibility: * Students must complete an international application for admission and submit SAT scores. A supplemental application for the Honors College must also be completed. Students must have a 3.5 high school weighted-core GPA and a minimum SAT score of 1300 (combined total of Critical Reasoning and Math) to be considered. *The South Carolina Honors College:* The Honors College is a small liberal arts college comprised of approximately 1200 students within the University of South Carolina. While the Honors College curriculum is grounded in the liberal arts, the Honors College is open to all majors. In addition, the Honors College gives students the opportunity to design their own major through the Baccalaureus Artium et Scientiae degree. The course offerings make the Honors College at USC truly unique. Approximately 300 courses are available through the Honors College annually, and many of these courses are special seminars specifically designed to meet the interests and goals of its students. Honors College students are encouraged to participate in undergraduate research, study abroad, and service learning.
