Europe Program Intern, International Crisis Group, Turkey
Europe Program is seeking an intern to work for three to six months starting in January 2010.
Crisis Group's Europe program researches and advocates on the Balkans, the Caucasus and, since March 2007, on Turkey, and monitors conflict potentials in Cyprus and Moldova. The policy analysts are based in field offices; the Program Director is located in Istanbul.

The internship would suit a candidate with a recent postgraduate degree in political science, conflict studies or public administration with a focus on the Caucasus and on EU-Russia
relations.
The intern will work closely with the Program Director and field offices fulfilling the following task:
* Research on core conflict issues in the Caucasus;
* Review of Russia and Caucasus press;
* Providing assistance editing reports on conflict issues;
* Preparation of advocacy materials and attending meetings with/on behalf of the Crisis Group staff;
* Maintaining contact with governments, academic institutes, think-tanks, NGOs; and
* Administrative work relative to the project and the office as a whole when necessary.

Requirements:
* Graduate/Postgraduate degree in political science, conflict studies, public administration or another similar field;
* An excellent verbal and written command of English;
* Good knowledge of Russian desirable;
* Knowledge of the region and conflict issues;
* Professional experience within a EU institution and/or an international relations environment/NGO desirable.

The intern will be based in Istanbul.
