The GBV Information Manager is responsible for developing systems to effectively collect and analyze program-related data and enables information-sharing between program sites to inform IRC’s Gender Based Violence program. This is a critical position that troubleshoots and overcomes obstacles in data collection to help the program develop data-driven interventions.
The GBV Information Manager reports to the GBV Senior Coordinator and provides support to 3 GBV coordinators and at least 6 national GBV managers across two provinces.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Data collection, management, and analysis
- Lead the roll-out and implementation of a GBV data management system in DRC, based on the program monitoring plan; - Review existing program information collection tools (prioritized); - Design and roll-out indicator tracking sheets for each program site and train staff on these tools; - Revise / develop a standardized set of tools to collect and analyze program information, based on the program monitoring plan; - Ensure that field-based GBV staff are equipped to use the standardized tools to regularly collect program information; - Lead training activities for staff on data collection and analysis; - Compile and analyze data across the program sites on a regular basis, and assist with writing up the analysis for purposes of donor reports and advocacy purposes; - Ensure that results of data analysis is fed back to GBV staff to inform program design and implementation; - Provide input to periodic reports ensuring data and information contained therein is up-to-date and accurate; - Ensure internal information-sharing protocols are developed to clarify how data will be stored, shared and analyzed, and what data can be used for what purpose and by whom; - Ensure that all aspects of the information-management system follow the strictest ethical and safety standards, to protect IRC clients, IRC and its staff, and partners.
REQUIREMENTS
Required
- Masters degree in social work, public health, international development or other related degree preferred. - At least two years demonstrable overseas experience in program design, monitoring and evaluation in a conflict or post-conflict context; Africa experience preferred. - Strong data management skills and familiarity with excel, SPSS, Stata or other statistical analysis software required - Experience working with a multi-disciplinary team in a cross-cultural setting. Preferred - At least 1 year experience in program management in gender-based violence programming. - Demonstrated experience in capacity building and mentoring.
