Applications are invited from Indian nationals pursuing doctoral studies at UK universities who are in their penultimate or final year. Three or four grants are given every year, currently of £1000. They are intended as a contribution towards the costs of completing a doctorate. Subjects covered History, literature, archaeology, philosophy, performing and creative arts Subjects not covered include management, sciences, economics, law and publishing This list is illustrative and is intended as a guide. This program provides scholarships to attend a broad range of three- to four-week summer courses at German universities which focus mainly on literary, cultural, political and economic aspects of modern and contemporary Germany. Extensive extracurricular programs complement and reinforce the core material. A number the University Summer Course Grants are made possible by the DAAD Alumni Association of the US, including one that is specially earmarked for an applicant in the fine arts. Scholarships are awarded to students pursuing full-time study at Canadian or US colleges or universities. *The University of South Carolina Honors College offers scholarships and reduced tuition to freshman international students demonstrating high academic achievement. A $750 scholarship is granted per academic year (fall and spring terms). Additionally, recipients receive a tuition reduction estimated at $10,396 for the fall 2010/spring 2011 terms. This reduces the cost of attendance from $35,453 to approximately $25,057 annually, which includes tuition, fees, and living expenses.
