Youth Challenge Australia (YCA) is a not for profit, non religious organisation that engages volunteers aged 18-30 in community development projects in International and Indigenous Australian communities. Youth Challenge Australia currently has spots available for their upcoming programs in Costa Rica, Guatemala and Mexico.

Youth Challenge Australia
These programs seek to provide young people with opportunities to learn more about the world, community development, language, travel and culture. Available projects include: Costa Rica: Living with local 'Ticos' and assisting a natural environment construction project; Guatemala: Being part of the rural community and assisting to boost their eco-tourism initiative; and, Mexico: Living and working in an orphanage, assisting the children and infrastructure projects.

The work consists in preparing and offering a wide, varied programme of education and leisure activities for those young people who are not integrated in the social life which allow them to know other young people in town and break their isolation. Moreover, to complement those activities which are organised in the field by the Town Council.
Keep in mind that the daily activity of the the volunteers involve also a part of "office work” and public attention whithin the Municipalities Offices of Mobility and Youth and Cultural Diversity.

The Graduate Public Service Internship Program (GPSI) is a unique internship experience that provides full-time graduate students with the opportunity to gain experience in their field through a 21 months internship while earning a master's degree at the University of Illinois Springfield. GPSI interns work 20 hours per week during the academic year for a stipend of $950 per month, and 37.5 hours per week during summer for a monthly stipend of $1900, and receive a 40 credit hour tuition waiver and an annual $300 professional development fund to be used for workshops, journals, etc. GPSI is a competitive internship program with companies surrounding the capital city of Springfield, Illinois. The GBV Information Manager is responsible for developing systems to effectively collect and analyze program-related data and enables information-sharing between program sites to inform IRC’s Gender Based Violence program.
This is a critical position that troubleshoots and overcomes obstacles in data collection to help the program develop data-driven interventions.

Europe Program is seeking an intern to work for three to six months starting in January 2010.
Crisis Group's Europe program researches and advocates on the Balkans, the Caucasus and, since March 2007, on Turkey, and monitors conflict potentials in Cyprus and Moldova. The policy analysts are based in field offices; the Program Director is located in Istanbul.

The internship would suit a candidate with a recent postgraduate degree in political science, conflict studies or public administration with a focus on the Caucasus and on EU-Russia
