The Network of National Agencies for the Youth in Action Programme organises a Newcomer training course on Youth Exchanges. The BiTriMulti training supports voluntary as well as full-time youth workers dealing directly with young people in developing their first international Youth Exchange in the framework of the YOUTH IN ACTION programme. This edition will take place in Romania, from 17-21 December 2009.

Aims and objectives:
- To provide a first international experience.
- To train in Youth in Action project management.
- To provide information about the Youth in Action Programme and especially about Youth Exchanges.
- To develop the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitude to organise a Youth Exchange.
- To give the opportunity to meet possible partner groups and to make contacts to different countries.
Hosting costs will be covered. Please check with the National Agency of your country if travel costs can be reimbursed.

To celebrate March 8, Isis Centre for Women and Development (based in Fes, Morocco and directed by Dr Fatima Sadiqi) is organizing an international conference (March 8-10, 2010) on marginalized women: single mothers, divorced women, widows, household breadwinners, in brief women without men in a globalized world seriously threatened by the impact of the financial crisis.

The Gulf Research Center is pleased to announce the holding of the first Gulf Research Meeting to be held at Robinson College, University of Cambridge from July 7-10, 2010. The meeting is organized by the Gulf Research Center Foundation office at Cambridge and done with the support of the Center for Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies of the University of Cambridge.
The overall purpose and objective of the Gulf Research Meeting is to create an academic environment to foster Gulf studies and provide broader academic exchange amongst scholars in the Gulf Region. For the
first meeting, a total of twelve workshops along topical themes pertinent to the Gulf region have been identified and an open Call for papers has now been issued. The 'Cities for Local Integration Policies for Migrants' (CLIP) Network will be holding a High Level Meeting on 30 November and 1 December 2009 in Brussels entitled "Intercultural approaches to community-building and cohesion in European cities - what can European integration policy learn from cities on how to manage migration and diversity in times of economic slump?”.

This meeting will examine new evidence regarding intercultural relations and related policies; with result of studies from CLIP, the Open Society Institute, the Network of European Foundations and the Fundamental Rights Agency. Read more

Cities of Migration is organising a webinar on 1 December 2009 which will focus on "Youth participation and migrant voice”. Young people make up a significant percentage of international migrants and an increasing proportion of today’s urban populations. Yet, a recent report laments that relatively little is known about the young migrant experience.

The webinar will examine projects from Oldham, Paris, London and Lisbon that look at the active participation of young people in community development and their views on identity and belonging. Read more

The Council of Europe, in partnership with the European Commission and the Government of Quebec, is organising the conference "Interacting in diversity” - open to public authorities, social workers, migrants, researchers. It will take place in Strasbourg, France, on 7-8th December 2009.
The purpose is to analyse the social and operational frameworks, in particular the acquisition of the more suited to fostering interaction in a context of cultural diversity, especially the development of public services in our pluralist societies.
This conference will deal primarily with the following topics:
the advantages and limits of the concept of reasonable accommodation in relation to the European standards on non-discrimination;
the nature of constraints affecting and potential for the interaction of "accommodations" deployed in Europe by social workers and mediators;
the need to adapt institutional language.

Youth workers, youth leaders, young researchers, journalists, young bloggers or young artists or occasional trainers involved with intercultural dialogue and/or youth policy aged between 18 and 30 (exceptions will be possible) are invited to participate in a seminar on youth policy in intercultural dialogue in the Euro-Mediterranean region, organised by the Council of Europe in cooperation with Anna Lindh Foundation.

The TERENA Networking Conference is the major
annual European event in research networking, bringing together around 500 participants from many different countries. The 2010 conferen
ce will take place from 31 May - 3 June 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania,
organised by TERENA and hosted by LITNET, the academic and research network in Lithuania. Extended abstracts of 600 – 1200 words (rather than full papers) are invited on all subjects relevant to the conference theme: 'Living the network life'.
